Silhouette contest winners

The best photos and videos of our monthly contest in September.

The Subsurface contest's subject in September was the Silhoutte: we asked our competitors to send images or video snapshots of a subject consisting of the outline and a basically featureless interior.

We knew this would be one of the challenging subjects. When we announced all the subjects in January we thought some photographers would take silhouettes during their summer trips. It was a tough subject for the videographers either but in our opinion there were some really nice photos and snapshots as well. The competitors sent 17 photos and 5 snapshots, and the voters had 10 days to choose their favourite ones.
