Malta is a country in the centre of the Mediterranean. It's situated south of Italy. Malta is an archipelago, the 3 largest islands (Malta, Gozo and Comino) are inhabited. It's the member of the European Union since 2004.

The location of Malta has given it strategic importance despite it's small covered land area. There are many historical sites above water from the ancient, medieval or modern era as well.

The country is a popular tourist destination and especially praised by divers. There are many wrecks around the islands: from the WWII HMS Maori, HMS Stubborn or Blenheim Bomber and artificial reefs like Rozi, P29 or P31. The water temperature can be 26-27 Celsius degrees in the summer, but it's still warm in the autumn months as well. There are plenty of dive centers in Malta and Gozo who usually offer shore dives.
