Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is the participation in the contest really free?

Yes. The registration to the website and the submission of the entries are free.

Why do I have to register in the organizer's websites?

We assign your submitted photos to your account, you don't need to rename them with your real name or category code, etc. In your contest account page you can give a title to your photo or you can change your submitted photo until the submission deadline.

Is it compulsory to give my real name and residence for a valid submission?

Yes.

I have a MILC (Micro 4/3) camera, can I submit my photos to the Compact category?

No, photos taken with mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras can be submitted only to Open Macro and Open Wide Angle categories because their lenses are interchangeable.

I’d like to enter a photo that has previously won a contest. Is that allowed?

Yes, all photos are eligible.

What if my photo does not meet technical requirements or I made not allowed image manipulations?

In that case your photo is not eligible to enter. Our requirements and image manipulation rules aren't that strict and it would be unfair to accept photos which don't comply with them.

The jury members or the voters will see the entrants' names?

No, all the submitted entries will be presented anonymously to the jury members and the voters.

I submitted my photo to the wrong category, what can I do?

You can change it until the submission deadline but after that sadly you can't.

Why is there a limit on the number of images that I can enter?

Participating in the contest is free, and this is the first contest we organize of this kind. So we decided to limit the number of entries. We encourage each entrant to select their images carefully.

What does this means: "Each individual photo can only win one prize"?

If the same photo wins in the Open Macro, Open Wide Angle or Compact category and the public vote as well, the entrant will get only one prize. If the same entrant's two different works would be awarded, he would get two prizes.

Why do you determine the prize distribution order in advance?

We prefer this way to let the winners choose the prize they like the most. Thanks to our sponsors there are really valuable dive packages but certainly we can't guarantee every awarded photographer will get the desired prize. To avoid complaining we decided to add the order in the Rules & Guidelines.

When will the winners be announced?

The category winners and the public vote winner will be announced on our websites in June.

Will you organize the contest next year again?

Yes, we will. Certainly there can be minor changes based on our experiences of this first contest.

How can I contact the organizers?

You can contact us at info@divingiscool.com.
