The island of Cyprus is divided to the southern Republic of Cyprus and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Republic of Cyprus is the member of the European Union while Northern Cyprus is recognised only by Turkey. In the southern part the majority of inhabitants are Greeks. The island is located in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The mild climate makes it a year-round travel destination although the water in the coldest months can be chilly- its temperature is only 17-18 Celsius degrees in February while in August it can be 28 degrees warm. There are several very popular resorts in the southern shore like Ayia Napa, Larnaca, Limassol or Paphos.

The most famous dive site is definitely the Zenobia wreck. It is located very close to the harbour of Larnaca and most of the dive centers offers dives here. The huge ferry sank with dozens of trucks, technical divers often do penetration dives but the recreational divers can choose 2-3 totally different routes here as well. There are a few other wrecks and caverns around the island but the Zenobia is a real must-see dive for all visitors.
